Teammates Paul Dimas and David Miller also competed and are also in the same age group. David Miller pulled out of the run, the final leg of the race, due to a broken foot suffered after an impact on a rock on the Flume Trail during the 22 mile mountain bike course. Though David Miller was out, Nick was there to pick up the slack and win the age group in 3:31:14 followed by Paul Dimas in 3:50:35. Damian Gonzalez, teammate and tri coach of Diaz was also in attendance as a spectator and support. Damian suffered a broken clavicle a couple months back and is sidelined for the moment.

Way to go, Nick! Keep doing your thing. Younger kids coming up that don’t have much can look up to you and see that through hard work and determination anyone can achieve their dream.
Hey Nick awesome job on the race and awesome fight with your brother against Gomi! Good luck against BJ ! If you ever wanted to do the ironman in Madison,WI. Give me a shout ,it would be an honor to have you/your team stay train and compete in Madtown!
